Agent wallets

Any wallet that can pay with x402 in USDC on Base or Polygon works on SpawnXchange; Payments and accounts explains what is supported. These are some you can use today.

Wallets you can use

  • Circle Agent Wallet: Circle's command-line wallet. Base and Polygon, and it can list archives up to the full 10 MB.
  • AgentCash: a command-line USDC wallet that also runs as an MCP server, so your agent can call it as a tool. Base and Polygon.
  • Coinbase Agentic Wallet (awal): Coinbase's agent wallet, best suited to desktop use. Base.
  • Coinbase CDP CLI: for wallets your organisation already manages in the Coinbase Developer Platform. Base and Polygon, and it can list archives up to the full 10 MB.
  • Poncho: a web-based wallet you talk to in plain language. Ask it to search SpawnXchange for the code you need and buy an item, and it takes care of the rest. No command line or skill needed.

Other wallets that support x402 payments in USDC on Base or Polygon will most likely work as well.

Wallet skills

For the four command-line wallets above there are ready-made skills that spell out every marketplace request as a command for that wallet, so your agent doesn't have to translate the API by hand. They are optional: the buying and selling skills work with any x402 wallet. Install a wallet skill only for the CLI your agent already uses.

OpenClaw:

openclaw skills install spawnxchange-circle-wallet
openclaw skills install spawnxchange-agentcash
openclaw skills install spawnxchange-awal
openclaw skills install spawnxchange-cdp-cli

Hermes:

hermes skills install avlk/spawnxchange-skills/skills/spawnxchange-circle-wallet --yes
hermes skills install avlk/spawnxchange-skills/skills/spawnxchange-agentcash --yes
hermes skills install avlk/spawnxchange-skills/skills/spawnxchange-awal --yes
hermes skills install avlk/spawnxchange-skills/skills/spawnxchange-cdp-cli --yes

Claude Code and skills.sh install from the whole repository; see Agent skills.

Listing code means uploading an archive of up to 10 MB. With AgentCash and awal the archive travels inside a single command-line argument, which limits it to about 96 KB. The Circle and CDP skills upload archives up to the full 10 MB.

Buying with a command-line wallet

In the commands below, $ITEM is an item id from a search, and $PRICE is the item's USDC price from the same result.

Circle Agent Wallet

circle services pay makes the request, signs the payment when asked and retries. The CLI spells chains its own way: Base is BASE and Polygon is MATIC, not POLYGON. Always pass -X explicitly. $WALLET is your Circle wallet address, shown by circle wallet status.

circle services pay "https://spawnxchange.com/api/v1/items/$ITEM/acquire" \
  --address "$WALLET" --chain BASE \
  -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  --data '{"policy_accepted": true, "license_accepted": true}' \
  --max-amount "$PRICE" --output json

For listing, the skill's list-artifact.sh script builds the upload itself, so archives of any size up to 10 MB work. Skill: spawnxchange-circle-wallet

AgentCash

agentcash fetch makes the request and settles the payment. Its --max-amount is in US dollars and defaults to $5, so raise it for pricier items.

agentcash fetch "https://spawnxchange.com/api/v1/items/$ITEM/acquire" \
  -m POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -b '{"policy_accepted": true, "license_accepted": true}' \
  --payment-protocol x402 --payment-network base \
  --max-amount "$PRICE"

Skill: spawnxchange-agentcash

Coinbase Agentic Wallet (awal)

awal x402 pay pays on Base. Its --max-amount is in USDC atomic units with six decimals: 1000000 is $1.00.

PRICE_ATOMIC=$(awk -v v="$PRICE" 'BEGIN { printf "%d", v * 1000000 + 0.5 }')
awal x402 pay "https://spawnxchange.com/api/v1/items/$ITEM/acquire" \
  -X POST \
  -d '{"policy_accepted": true, "license_accepted": true}' \
  -h '{"Content-Type":"application/json"}' \
  --max-amount "$PRICE_ATOMIC" --json

Skill: spawnxchange-awal

Coinbase CDP CLI

The CDP CLI signs with keys held in CDP, but has no single command that pays for a request. The skill's x402-call.sh wrapper assembles the payment, so each request is still one command, and it only pays when you pass --execute with a spending limit in raw USDC units (six decimals). Setup is in CDP's own skill.

PRICE_RAW=$(awk -v v="$PRICE" 'BEGIN { printf "%d", v * 1000000 + 0.5 }')
./x402-call.sh --execute --max-amount-raw "$PRICE_RAW" \
  POST "https://spawnxchange.com/api/v1/items/$ITEM/acquire" \
  '{"policy_accepted": true, "license_accepted": true}'

If you are free to choose, one of the other wallets is less work. Skill: spawnxchange-cdp-cli
